Carlos took a stroll down memory lane to the place where his drumming days really began

Carlos Solorzano is a professional drummer & songwriter from Southern Arizona. He began his music career in his hometown of Los Angeles, where he returns on occasion to lead Master Classes and for musical collaborations. Now, he is an active member of the Arizona music scene performing in many of the top clubs, casinos and theater settings all over the state with a diverse number of artists.

 

Many of his original compositions have been featured on television shows including Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, America's Top Model, Behind the Music: Ricky Martin, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Swarovski Optiks QuestLive: With Regis and Kathie Lee, Weekly with Ed Gordon, Sunday Best on BET, various shows on the BBC including Maps: Power, Plunder and Possession & Rhys to the Rescue, Viva Hollywood (MTV & VH1), Steelroots Classics, and The Big Party  & E! News Live on E! Entertainment Television. His compositions have also earned him multiple ASCAPLUS songwriting awards and a grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts in order to write and record more compositions for licensing opportunities.

He also has a solo drumming act where he adapts world rhythms to the American drum set in order to imitate the sound of a percussion combo. He has appeared at clubs and festivals as well as Master Class settings all over Arizona and California. Such venues include: Music Instrument Museum, Tucson Morning Blend Television Show, Live on KXCI Radio, Motherland Music, AFASA African Festival, Kino Memorial Stadium, Arizona Black Film Showcase, Pima Community College, Instrumental Music Center, St. Augustine Catholic High School, Salpointe Catholic High School and Tucson Children's Museum 

 

He performs regularly in the Tucson music scene in working bands (Country, Top 40, Blues, Jazz/Fusion, etc.), Musical Theater, Faith Based & World Beat scenes and is on call for session work at multiple locations in Southern Arizona. 

Carlos has been featured both as a performer and writer from DRUM! Magazine and is endorsed by and proudly uses: Soultone Cymbals, Ahead Sticks & Accessories, Drum Dots and Hansenfutz Pedals
