Carlos Solorzano is a professional drummer & songwriter from Southern Arizona who is available for drumming services & music licensing opportunities. He writes original instrumental compositions that are based mostly on world music ideas as well as original tribal drumming compositions that have been featured on numerous television shows round the world including: Law and Order Special Victims Unit: Shattered & Retro, America’s Top Model: Welcome to New Zealand & Big Hair Day, Behind the Music: Ricky Martin, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, 72 Dangerous Animals - Asia - Big! His compositions have also earned him multiple ASCAPLUS songwriting awards and grants from the Arizona Commission on the Arts and Arts Foundation for Tucson & Southern Arizona.
He also has a solo drumming act where he orchestrates world rhythms to the American drum set in order to imitate the sound of a percussion combo. He has appeared as a solo performer and in Master Class settings all over Arizona and California. Such venues and events include: Music Instrument Museum, Tucson Morning Blend Television Show, Live on KXCI Radio, Motherland Music, AFASA African Festival, Kino Memorial Stadium, Arizona Black Film Showcase, Pima Community College, Los Angeles Harbor College, Instrumental Music Center and Tucson Children's Museum.
He performs regularly in the Tucson music scene in working bands (Country, Top 40, Blues, Jazz/Fusion, etc.), Musical Theater, Faith Based & World Beat scenes and is on call for session work at multiple locations in Southern Arizona.
Carlos has been featured both as a performer and writer from DRUM! Magazine and is currently writing a monthly feature titled "The Desert Drummer on all things Drumming" for the Independent Music Show Magazine."
